Ben Sweetman

In this session, Ben Sweetman from QA will give an insight into the market for developers in the UK high-assurance sector and the future pipeline coming through traditional education. Ben will share insights from developer apprentices working on security-critical projects and the benefits and challenges of applied learning. There will be a particular focus on those skills rarely taught in full-time Computing education, such as Test Driven Development, Source Control, understanding client requirements and how to work in a development team.
About Ben Sweetman
Ben leads QA’s Degree Apprenticeship team and has 15 years’ experience in Apprenticeships and Work Based Learning. Ben has led learning and product innovation for QA since joining in 2011. In that time, he designed and launched QA’s Apprenticeship programmes for Software Developers, Project Managers and Digital Marketers as well as leading on Blended Learning strategy. Prior to joining QA, Ben was Head of Apprenticeships for e-skills UK and before that worked as Training Manager for a small private training provider.Sponsored by
